    An iPhone App?

We are two programmers.  We both have OK programming skills.  He called me and said "let's do an iPhone app!"  I replied with "yeah!"

    And then there was silence.

What do we do?  I have absolutely no clue what app we should do.

Help?  What do Kuwaitis want?  (or perhaps Arabs in general?)

Well Hamad this is kinda already done with certain Cydia apps? I was thinking more like something that would sit in Apple's app store. I don't think they'd let us do something like that heh.

How about traffic application that lets you know where the traffic is and suggests other routes and that works in Kuwait and other Middle East Countries. I know how to do it, but don't have the time to code it or learn how to use the iPhone SDK.

Wait, I thought of another. I got my iPod touch docked in my stereo system. and I got my Mac on my lap. There is a great app called Remote that allows me to control my iTunes through my ipod touch or iphone. But what I need right now is a sort of reverse remote. I want to control my iPod though my Mac. I don't want to hear my music through my small laptop speakers, I want to feel it boom through my stereo speakers instead.

oshkosh: That's actually not a bad idea at all :) We might give that a try. Online competing too? ooo...

Don Veto: Traffic app sounds really good, but where do you scrape the data from? I don't remember any websites here that show you how bad the traffic is.

As for controlling the iPod through the mac, there's no way to access the music through the SDK :(

You let the other iPhones report back, sort of like a social thing.

Don: I see what you mean. Still, kinda tough to report while driving, and making it report automagically requires that the app be running, but Apple doesn't allow anything running in the background. Salt on wounds, you cannot report your current location without confirmation from the iPhone.

mjkout: Your veiled jabs at the iPhone are noted :p stick to your ericsson!

Daddy's Girl: You're certainly the one I'll be asking for advice next time! These are all really interesting. Maybe an app that acts as a front end for Kuwait's stock exchange? Interesting! Wish they had some sort of API though.

nassq8: Thanks bro :) Well, we'll have to start with babysteps. Let's see if the small stuff works out first :p
